In 2007, Canon (China) formally signed an agreement with the China Youth Development Foundation to support the construction of three "Canon Hope Schools".
This launched the "Help us Help" project to build one school each in the three regions of the North of China, the East of China and the South of China. In September 2009, the schools in Noth and East of China were completed, and children began studying in their new schools from the middle of October.
Canon Suzhou and CanonTianjin participated, currently, nine Canon Hope Schools have been established throughout China.
