CMOS Sensor
The expressive power of digital SLR photography starts here
The CMOS sensor is the electronic eye in Canon digital SLR cameras. Through the development of proprietary technology to eliminate noise, a problem common to conventional CMOS sensors, Canon realized an imaging sensor that achieves highresolution performance and low power consumption. Leading the way in developing a 35 mm full-frame sensor, Canon manufactures CMOS sensors inhouse as key components.

Compact Digital Cameras

Canon makes every effort to equip its digital cameras with the latest imaging technology.
Canon digital cameras combine a DIGIC imaging processor that brings together decades of camera expertise, face detection technology, and an optical image stabilizer, in a stylish, sophisticated package that fits nicely in the hand.

The brain of digital cameras, embodying a long heritage of photographic know-how
The DIGIC imaging processor represents the brain of Canon digital cameras.
Condensing seventy years of photographic expertise into a single semiconductor chip, DIGIC instantaneously performs the simultaneous parallel processing of complex image data. With DIGIC III, the technology is capable of distinguishing human faces and determining optimal focusing and exposure settings.

Lenses

A leader in optical technology, Canon continues to improve the image quality and operability of its interchangeable lenses by incorporating various advanced technologies, including large-aperture aspherical lenses, IS (Image Stabilizer) lenses, and DO (multilayered Diffractive Optical element) lenses.

The reason behind exquisite print quality
FINE
(Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering)
FINE is a core technology that supports high image quality and fast printing in Canon inkjet printers. Semiconductor production technology enables print heads to be manufactured as single units, complete with heaters. Reducing nozzle size with sub-micrometer precision makes possible the accurate delivery of ink drops as small as one picoliter in size.

*1 picoliter = 1 trillionth of a liter.

Compact Photo Printers

Compact photo printers enable users to enjoy photographs on the spot, even outdoors. Our compact printers connect directly to digital cameras, without the need for a PC, and are also equipped with memory card slots, making it possible to enjoy high-resolution prints at the touch of a button—anytime, anywhere.
