Canon launches a new lineup of CANOBEAM optical-beam transceivers with low-cost, high-speed models.
TOKYO, June 11, 2003,Canon announced the introduction of three new optical transceivers that enable the creation of a bi-directional wireless
connection for high-speed low-cost data transmission :
the Canon CANOBEAM DT-110 and DT-120, realizing transfer speeds up to 156Mbps; and the CANOBEAM DT-130, allowing data transfer at an exceeding 1.25Gbps.
Canon's CANOBEAM DT-110, DT-120 and DT-130 optical transceivers build on the outstanding functionality of previous models, employing design innovations that contribute to both reduced size and greater cost performance. Featuring a compact optical module, which integrates key optical components in one tidy unit, the models utilize fewer parts to realize size and weight reductions of up to 50% (*1).
Now, Canon is proud to announce the NEW DT-150, our latest Canobeam series for digital video signal transmission. DT-150 transmits both HDTV and SDTV digital video formats (HD-SDI, SD-SDI, and DVB-ASI). Taking advantage of its super fast data transmission speed of 1.485Gbsp, DT-150 transmits the HDTV video format (HD-SDI) without compression and thus the transmitted picture quality has no loss and has no frame delay.
Each of the models also includes the acclaimed Autotracking function, which automatically maintains the alignment of the laser axes of the paired transceiver units to compensate for shifting and vibrations experienced by buildings or other platforms as a result of temperature changes, wind and other environmental conditions. The Autotracking function also features a new design that further contributes to the units' reduced proportions. |

| The CANOBEAM DT-110 is a high-cost-performance model for short distance applications. The model achieves bi-directional transmission over distances ranging from 20 to 500 m (*2) at speeds from 25 to 156Mbps, also offers Autotracking : a feature previously limited to high-end models. |

| The CANOBEAM DT-120 is a standard model that makes possible data transmission over distances from 100 m to 2 km (*2) at speeds up to 156Mbps. The DT-120 also offers a network-based device-monitoring system, which allows network administrators to set and confirm all settings remotely, drastically reducing time spent on maintenance. |

The CANOBEAM DT-130 is an ultra-high-speed model that achieves transfer speeds of up to 1.25Gbps, supporting network delivery of large-volume data. Enabling transmission over distances from 20 m to 1 km, the DT-130 also incorporates a 3R Function (Re-shaping, Re-timing, and Re-generating), allowing the data signal to be relayed without loss of strength or quality even when operating at maximum transfer speed.
