At NAB2008, Canon is introducing the first Auto Focus Studio Lens of it's own Auto Focus Lens Lineups by launching the DIGISUPER27 AF.
After the introduction of the DIGISUPER 27 in IBC2007, the lens has become one of the most popular studio lens in the world due to it's outstanding optical performance and ease of operation. By adding Canon's advanced Auto Focus Technology, the lens has become capable to assist professional camera operators in concentrating on their camera actions while maintaining the images in focus. Canon’s advanced Auto Focusing for the DIGISUPER HDTV Zoom Lens employs the TTL-Secondary Image Registration Phase-detection system, originally developed for single-lens reflex still cameras, in order to pursue both high accuracy and a high tracking capability for broadcast HDTV.

In addition to the lens’ exceptional Auto Focus Function, the DIGISUPER 27AF is also equipped with a digital interface, enabling the lens to be compatible with virtual studio systems. Moreover, newly developed optional functions and accessories that allow for more effective studio production, are available. The unique options available on the DIGISUPER 27AF are a “Remote Macro System” and an industry first “Wide Attachment (0.9x)”.
