This lens adopts a rear focusing system where only the rear group of the lens is moved for focal adjustments, and has the features of smooth focusing and an unchanged overall length when focusing.
Moreover, aberrations at close distances are kept extremely small through the use of unique lens positioning, making it possible to achieve uniform sharp image quality at maximum aperture over the entire zoom range, while offering focusing distance of 1.5m, which is the closest in the class of this lens.
