The Frontline of Camera Design : IXY 600F

Attention to detail: Your hands feel the difference.

Integrity of design is in the details.
With compact cameras in particular, the entire camera body is enveloped by the hand. Thus, even a minor difference in details can have a significant impact on the camera's feel in the hand.
Therefore, the design of the PowerShot ELPH 310 HS, and the emphasis on curved surfaces, can be said to exist in the details.
Notably, the elements related to operation and the input/output terminals have been relocated from the side to the back of the camera. Naturally, we placed priority on ease-of-use and design integrity.
The operation system has been organized in a natural manner and is enclosed in complex yet delicately curved surfaces. The design was developed through a lengthy process of trial and error. The result is a body design that nestles naturally in the hand.

Our goal: Creating the sensation of quality and innovation

The body shape was not the only beneficiary of our trial-and-error approach. The ideal body colors for the PowerShot ELPH 310 HS were obtained through repeatedly formulating slight differences in hue. The resulting premium colors add to the high-quality appearance of this camera.
We were also committed to maintaining the color scheme in the various other parts of the camera body.
A particular paint can exhibit slightly different textures depending on the base material and the application method. With the PowerShot ELPH 310 HS, we developed a comprehensive appearance by carefully adjusting the color tones for each material while changing the texture of the body and the lens housing.
Moreover, we even changed the shading of the black parts to harmonize with the various body colors. As well, we precisely aligned the texture of the complex four-part lens cover. Our attention to detail is clearly in evidence here as well.
