Before cameras were equipped with automatic focusing mechanisms, autofocus (AF) was only a dream. The AF system adopted for the Autoboy was an active method using a near-infrared emitting diode (IRED). The biggest benefit is that it ensured accurate focusing even under low-light conditions.
