For models prior to the Autoboy WT28, local time had to be set if you wished to superimpose the date onto your pictures during overseas trips. Also, standard-type lenses were not able to capture wide-angle panoramic views.
The Autoboy WT28 (World Traveler) allowed users to imprint the local time and date with ease by just selecting their present location from a list of 24 major cities around the world.

Moreover, the "Requested Picture Mode" enabled users to get the best results without worrying about focus problems, even when asking another person to take a picture. The dual-focus lenses, a wide-angle 28 mm and a standard 48 mm, were switchable according to whether you were photographing landscape or portrait snapshots. |
