1. The AEB (auto exposure bracketing) function is a stepwise exposure control that is indispensable when shooting under complicated light conditions. The custom functions of the EOS-1V permit the user to customize the shooting sequence as desired.
Standard
Negative compensation (- 1/2 stop)
Positive compensation (+ 1/2 stop)

The AEB function is a stepwise exposure performed to select delicate expressions when shooting using reversal film. This is an extremely convenient function for professionals and advanced amateurs enabling automatic shooting at various exposure compensation settings such as standard, positive and negative compensation. Furthermore with the EOS-1V, shooting sequence is selectable, for example, "standard-->negative compensation---> positive compensation," or "negative compensation-->standard---> positive compensation," according to the user’s preference.

By utilizing the custom functions, it is even possible to choose how to handle the film leader after rewinding it. In case of self-developing, it would be more convenient to leave a leader outside the film patrone. Otherwise, it would be better to wind up an entire roll including the leader to avoid mix-up with an unused film roll. The roll is entirely wound up including the leader. The leader is left outside the film patrone.
