Summary of commentators’ opinions over last four years and Canon’s responses

From 2003, Canon have been issuing Canon Sustainability Report annually, which include the pages of the third-party opinion. From these third-party opinion for past four years, Canon have received a lot of suggestions and reflected in the Canon Sustainability Report, as explained below. These are, to Canons understanding, the most relevant issues voiced by the stakeholders and the way Canon responded to address those.

Enrich the contents of social aspects as a whole [In the area of Corporate Governance and Compliance]
  • Directly under the Executive Committee, “Corporate Ethics and Compliance Committee,” “Internal Control Committee,” “Disclosure Committee” were established to strengthen the corporate governance and compliance.

  • To instill a high sense of corporate ethics and compliance in its workforce, Canon introduced “Compliance week,” “Compliance Card,” and “Practice! A Corporate Ethics Reader.”
  • Canon enlarged “Comliance-Hotline” to group companies. This Hot-line is use to eliminate any budding illegal behavior.
