In order to achieve the overwhelming no. 1 position in all current core businesses, we are working to implement the five key strategies of Phase III of our Excellent Global Corporation Plan.

First, I would like to discuss Canon's goal of achieving the overwhelming no. 1 position in all current core businesses.

Currently, as you can see, Canon is already in the no. 1 position for some of its current core business, and for others it is not.

In those areas where Canon is no. 1, we have increased our competitiveness by bolstering product strength and using economies of scale to lower product costs. And for those products not in the no. 1 position, we are working to strengthen their competitiveness.
