TOKYO, February 18, 2008—Moody's Investors Service upgraded its long-term debt and issuer rating on Canon Inc. on February 18, 2008. The rating action reflects their view that Canon is likely to sustain its solid operating performance given its competitive market positions in most of its major product lines, and also to maintain a high degree of financial flexibility over the medium term given its strong cash flow.
