Supporting CARE International Japan's AIDS Education Program for Young People

Seminar for HIV-positive persons
As part of its humanitarian aid efforts, Canon recently provided support to CARE International Japan with its AIDS Education Program for Young People.
CARE International Japan is the Japanese branch of the international aid agency CARE, a nongovernmental organization. Dedicated to eliminating the causes of global poverty, CARE International Japan provides humanitarian aid to developing countries afflicted by disaster, and empowers the world's most vulnerable to stand on their own feet with programs focusing on HIV/AIDS and women and children.
The AIDS Education Program for Young People is based in Vietnam, aims to create a climate of coexistence between those who fear becoming infected with the virus and HIV-positive individuals suffering from discrimination.
Specifically, a campaign has been mounted to promote awareness of AIDS prevention and the rights of the HIV-positive. In additions, guidance and training have been provided to several HIV-positive self-help groups in planning and implementing awareness programs for young people.
Canon was presented by CARE International Japan with a letter of appreciation for its backing.
