The Canon Group has pledged more than US$600,000 to help victims of the large-scale earthquake off the coast of Sumatra, Indonesia, and the resulting tsunamis in neighboring countries.
- Canon Group in Japan: 30million yen to the Japanese Red Cross Society.
- Canon Group in Asia: 80,000U.S.dollars to various relief organizations, including the Malaysia and Singapore Red Cross Societies.
- Canon Group in the Americas: 100,000U.S.dollars to the American Red Cross Society.
- Canon Group in Europe: 80,000Euro to the British Red Cross Society.
- Canon Group in Oceania: 50,000Australian dollars to the Australian Red Cross Society.
The Canon Group donated US$44,700 from the employees through Japanese Red Cross Society.
