On March 2, 2010, Canon Inc. announced donations by the Canon Group to provide aid assistance following the powerful earthquake that struck Chile on February 27, 2010, causing extensive damage throughout the region.

The Canon Group is aiding in the relief efforts for victims of the earthquake with donations to the Japanese Red Cross Society and other humanitarian aid organizations totaling 15 million yen.
