On January 15, Canon Inc. announced donations by the Canon Group to provide aid assistance following the powerful earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12, which caused extensive destruction and loss of life.

The Canon Group is aiding in the relief efforts for victims of the earthquake with donations to the Japanese Red Cross Society and other humanitarian aid organizations totaling 20 million yen (approximately US$220,000).

In addition, donations were collected from employees. The money collected will be put to use through the Japanese Red Cross Society.
