On March 12, Canon Inc. announced donations by the Canon Group to provide aid assistance following the major earthquake that struck off the northeast coast of Japan's main island of Honshu on March 11, causing massive damage and loss of life in the area.

The company extends heartfelt condolences to everyone affected by the disaster and those suffering in its aftermath, and hopes that the region will soon be able to begin the rebuilding and healing process.

To aid in the relief efforts for the earthquake victims, the Canon Group is making a donation of 300 million yen to the Japanese Red Cross Society and other humanitarian aid organizations, and will provide supplies as needed.
