On August 4, 2006, Canon Zhuhai (China) donated a monetary contribution amounting to 50,000 Yuan (approx. 750,000 Yen) to the Zhuhai City Red Cross Society to support the city's areas heavily damaged by typhoon #6, code-named "Prapiroon", the day before.
The city suffered typhoon damages of around 200 million Yuan (approx. 3 billion Yen) and a death toll of three persons. The Canon Zhuhai donation was used to help the devastated areas.
