The Canon Group has donated 150 million yen to the Japanese Red Cross Society, to provide aid to areas devastated by the great earthquake that hit Sichuan, China, on May 12, 2008.

Canon President Tsuneji Uchida, on behalf of the Canon Group, presented the donation to
Japanese Red Cross Society President Tadateru Konoe.

In addition, donations were collected from Canon employees to aid the recovery of areas hit by the cyclone in Myanmar and the Sichuan great earthquake in China. The money collected will be put to use through the Japanese Red Cross Society.
