Lunch Card Fund-raising Carried Out

Donation box at an in-house store
The Canon Group in Japan has implemented a Lunch Card Fund-raising program to accompany the modification of its system to settle cafeteria charges.
With the change from the prepaid card to a contactless IC card, for use in in-house cafeterias and stores, this fund-raising effort asks employees to donate the balance remaining on their old lunch cards. Therefore, following the introduction of the new system, donation boxes were placed in in-house stores and employees were encouraged to support the Lunch Card Fund-raising effort.
As a result, a total of 1,676 cards, equivalent to ¥161,041 in donations, were collected at the Shimomaruko, Utsunomiya, Kosugi and Tamagawa Business Offices, from May 7 to 31.
All the funds raised through this effort will be donated to the School Meal Programme being advanced by the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).
The new system will continue to be introduced in phases hereafter successively to cover other Canon business offices and Canon Group member companies, and Canon plans to implement this Lunch Card Fund-raising effort at them as well.
