Canon Europe scores at world soccer tournament

Representing France; Zinedine Zidane makes an appearance at the tournament
Canon Europe acted as an official partner for the Danone Nations Cup 2010, an international soccer tournament targeting young adults aged 10 to 12.
The Danone Nations Cup, organized every year since 2000 by France-based Group DANONE, brings together soccer teams from 40 nations to compete for a final tournament. By acting as a partner for this event, Canon Europe aims to help cultivate children's health and contribute to communities across different regions.
Canon Europe, together with regional sales companies, provided support for the qualifying tournaments across nine countries, including Germany, Austria and the Netherlands, as well as the final tournament held in South Africa. At the final, banners displaying the Canon name were located throughout the stadium, while a special photo corner was available that allowed participant teams to pose for photos and have them printed on site.
The Danone Nations Cup 2010 final tournament in South Africa was held from October 1 to 3. Because of an influenza outbreak that occurred last year, the 2009 tournament did not take place and so this year's tournament crowned a team from South Africa as the 2009 winner, with first place for this year's competition going to a team from Mexico.
