Hiking through the Cosmos Flowers

By the railway tracks we go where through cosmos blossoms. What a beautiful day for an outing! The cosmos flowers are blooming in all their colorful glory - white, pink, red - waving in rhythm with the tall grass.

With lunch boxes and munchies in our hefty backpacks and canteens at our sides, we're going all the way to the top of the hill.
We walk and walk and walk, lustily singing away.
I run up to a friend calling his name. The noon train is hurtling by, and we all give a big cheer.

A Walk through the Castle Town

A late autumn afternoon. Let's detour through the old town.
Shopping basket in hand, we head for the local teashop...

The chattering of tourists as a rickshaw whizzes by.
The whirring of bicycles.
The footsteps of sightseers tracing a bit of history.

We walk the grid-like streets flanked by whitewashed walls.
From the other direction come a familiar face and a wave of the hand.
I smile back.

Turning the corner at the hedge, we're greeted by the scent of a late-blooming fragrant olive.
A kitten meows "Hello!" from a rooftop of the whitewashed town.

Christmas Evening

Jingle, jingle go the bells
As the reindeer draws the sleigh into town.
Through the streets echo children's delighted squeals and the laughter of families.

Candles are lit in ones and twos until eventually the darkness of the streets becomes light.
Christmas songs start to flow from the houses and fill the bright streets with music.
People walk the bright streets as children ride the reindeer-drawn sleigh.

Amidst the sound of songs praying for world happiness and world peace
I've just remembered the most important thing of all.
I've just remembered the most important person of all.
