Yoko Oshida was born in 1952 and lives in Tokyo. She studied the drawing of pictures for children at a culture school for handicapped people, and continues to produce works brimming with lyricism and emotion. At present, she works actively in various media as a popular Artibility artist.

Oshida has received many awards for her art, among them:
"13th Handicapped People's General Art Exhibition," Encouragement Prize;
"28th Physically Handicapped Children's and People's Art Exhibition," Metropolitan Governor's Award;
12th Artbility - Asahi Beer Encouragement Prize;
21st Artbility - Hitachi Capital Special Award.

Thank you very much for your patronage over the past year. This has been a really great experience for me.
In the beginning, I had feelings of uncertainty as to whether I would be able to do it, but over time I came to look forward to choosing which painting to show next. Although I had been worried about being able to write for this project, by composing poems and anecdotes about things that left an impression on me and my childhood memories, I was somehow able to write for the project up to this final time.
In particular, writing about recollections of my childhood made me happy, as I would recall one after another those nostalgic days spent with my father, mother and sisters. There were many memories I didn't get around to writing about, but I came to believe anew that those days filled with many happy moments are my roots.
Thank you very much to all of you who have accessed this Web page and viewed my works. I hope that we will be able to meet again somewhere someday through my art.
