No.4 "The Land of Alice"

The idea for The Land of Alice sprang from a painting I happened to see at a nursery school that was created by a small child attending the school. It was a very interesting picture in which small houses were placed to form a spiral. Immediately, I envisioned a tiny realm nestled in a lush green forest. As I always have the desire to create a new painting that is uniquely my own, I boldly made the background pink. This was something I had never done before. As my work progressed, I came to feel a freshness to the combination of the green of the trees and the pink. While I was painting it, for some reason the tale Alice in Wonderland kept recurring to me. Therefore, I named this painting The Land of Alice.
