No.11 "A Walk at Night"

This painting, A Walk at Night, is a work filled with many memories of my mother. When she was still young, I remember her coming up to my studio on the second floor when I was in the final stages of painting it. Climbing up the stairs with vigor, upon taking a look atA Walk at Night my mother suggested, "draw some small ducks!" Then we two shared ideas about things like how many ducks there should be and their sizes. Now, at times when I am caring for my aged mother, my memory of that time comes back to me with splendid brilliance. Once again, I fondly remember her idea and am deeply grateful to her.
