“The 6th Eco Festa (festival) Wonderland”
– Local community thinks about the future of the earth –

On February 18, 2007 Canon participated in “Eco Festa Wonderland” held at Ota Ward Omori Dai-ichi Elementary School. This festival is sponsored by Ota Ward, with the ward, citizens‘ organizations, NPOs, corporations, and schools taking part, so that school children can learn about the environment while enjoying the event. There were more than 500 visitors.

Canon provided a variety of services: panel display on how to deal with environmental issues, distribution of pamphlets, and a fishing game in which used cartridges were likened to fish, so that visitors could learn the importance of recycling.

The fishing game had participants competing with each other for the number of catches in one minute. There were matches between friends as well as parents and children, so the game really came alive. As the participants were asked to return caught fish to recycling boxes, they increased their awareness of the environment.
