On November 10 and 11, 2007, Canon participated in OTA Interaction Festa 2007, an event held at Heiwajima, Ota Ward, Tokyo. This is the largest festival put on for the residents Ota Ward and enables people to enjoy a variety of events, concession stands, etc., at three sites, the Heiwajima Motorboat Race Place, Heiwajima Park and Heiwa-no-mori Park.

Canon sponsored two booths, “Charity Photo” and “Charity Book and CD Sales,” and approximately 650 people visited them. At the “Charity Photo” booth, people donated 100 yen to charity for each photo taken using as background a photo of a field of flowers or giraffe produced using Canon’s large-sized printer. The charity photos were printed out on the spot. In addition, at the “Charity Book and CD Sales” booth, people purchased many books and CDs. On December 18, the proceeds approximately 60,000 yen were donated to Ota Ward.

Although it unfortunately rained on the first day, a total of 246,000 people visited the various sites over the two days of the festa this fiscal year, the 18th year it has been held.
