A total of 134 Canon employees and their families (101 adults and 33 children) took part in the campaign to clean up the riverbank of the Tama River sponsored by Tokyo’s Ota Ward on June 11, 2006.
The aim of this annual event is to increase awareness and promote understanding of environmental preservation through clean-up activities. This year marked the eleventh time Canon participated.
Unfortunately it rained, but the participants divided into two groups for two lengths of the river - one of about 1.7 km from Tamagawa Ohashi Bridge to Gas Bridge and the other for children by the Canon site who worked hard to collect litter.
All participants had their photo taken.
Parents and children collected litter.
The whole crew cleared the Tama riverbank of litter.
