Cooperation for Program to Familiarize Chinese Students with Japanese Companies and Japan
Canon supports "," a program to familiarize Chinese university students with Japanese companies and Japan by inviting them to visit Japan on a study tour. This endeavor is planned and backed by the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China, whose members are Japanese companies in China.
The objectives of this program are to deepen mutual understanding between China and Japan and promote friendly relations and mutual understanding in the years to come. It hopes to achieve this by having Chinese university students, who are members of the young generation who will be shouldering the responsibility for leading the country in the future, visit Japan and interact with Japanese people.
Inaugurated in 2007, every year the program invites students selected mainly from universities in Beijing, to visit Japan, and provides them with opportunities to learn about actual conditions in Japanese society through visiting companies and staying at the homes of families in Japan. Canon has cooperated with this program from its beginning by accepting homestay students, as well as accommodating company visits.
On May 27, 30 students visited the Toride Office, and Plant Manager Okugaki guided them on a tour of the site of printer cell production. In the question and answer session following the plant tour, the students asked many questions about cell production and employee training methods, among other areas of interest.
