Since 1990, the People's Government of Dalian and Canon have jointly hosted this speech contest to train personnel who can act as a goodwill bridge between China and Japan. We celebrated the contest7s 20th anniversary in 2009.
There were approximately 11,000 participants in this contest, including in the preliminary rounds. In the final, 15 contestants who had won through the stringent final tests gave speeches using a high level of Japanese on the subjects of "a true international person" and "understanding other culture", etc. The winner participated in training in Japan in November, and visited Canon HQ, etc.
