On April 7, Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd. held a ceremony to initiate its environmental education program at the VeAn Elementary School located in Bac Ninh province, Vietnam.

First launched in 2008, the program seeks to increase environmental awareness among Vietnam's elementary school children and to introduce the idea of protecting the environment while playing and having fun.

With approximately 100 students from VeAn Elementary School taking part, the program also saw the Bac Ninh province Education and Training Center Associate Director, the VeAn Elementary School Principle, Canon Vietnam's General Director Sachio Kageyama, and others in attendance.

With the themes of protecting the global environment by saving resources and conserving energy, and the "three R's" (recycle, reduce, reuse), the program allowed participants to learn about the environment while playing games and taking quizzes.

At the introduction ceremony, Mr. Kageyama spoke to attendees, conveying that protecting the natural environment is a necessity for humanity, with the current state of the world facing serious environmental pollution. He said that it is the responsibility of every person to protect the environment and that everyone should make efforts to separate garbage properly, to not use electricity or water needlessly, and to endeavor to learn about and participate in environmental protection activities.

Additionally, Canon Vietnam set up separate garbage bins for recyclable and non-recyclable trash at the VeAn Elementary School.
