On April 14, 2012, Canon (China) Co., Ltd. held its "Green Pioneer" volunteer tree-planting event in Beijing. Canon China President Hideki Ozawa and 174 others participated.

“Green Pioneer” is an environmental program that Canon China inaugurated in 2007. This year, in addition to Beijing, it was implemented in a total of ten regions, including Wuhan, Xi’an and Chengdu. The Canon employees who volunteered, the supporting dealers and suppliers and family members planted hundreds of saplings in the hope of creating a future where an affluent society and the environment can exist in harmony.

This year marked the fifth consecutive year that Canon China has carried out this program, and it has grown into a major activity with over 5,000 people having volunteered to date.
