As part of its new employee training, Canon Electronics Inc. has been conducting a "Forest Creation Volunteer Experience" program since 2005, aiming to nurture employees' consciousness of social contribution and to enhance their understanding of the importance of environmental conservation.

Under this program, new employees engage in tree planting and thinning in the Saitama Prefecture Agriculture & Forestry Corporation forest to conserve the Arakawa River headwaters and the national land in general. In 2006, the target of this program was expanded to include middle management steppin up the company's endeavors for forest creation.
