Canon provided support for the "Youth Summit for Environment in Kobe," held from May 22 to 24, in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture.

Mitsuro Ohba, an adventurer known for his solo treks on foot crossing the Arctic Circle and Antarctic, began the challenge of "Global Adventure: The 3rd Leg - The Canadian Arctic" from the end of February 2008.

Canon Electronics has planted 1,000 rhododendrons in the mountain forests at the summit of Mt. Mitsumine in Chichibu. This was formally opened as the "Mitsumine Sennen no Mori" by Saitama Prefecture on April 17, 2008. Canon fully support the passing down of healthy forests to the next generation.

As part of its new employee training, Canon Electronics Inc. has been conducting a "Forest Creation Volunteer Experience" program since 2005, aiming to nurture employees' consciousness of social contribution and to enhance their understanding of the importance of environmental conservation.
