Canon holds a number of programs at each of its sites to support the education of children in which employees go to local elementary and middle schools to conduct lens crafting classes, camera craft classes, and printer dismantling classes.

Canon offers monetary and educational support for the Utsunomiya University Center for Optical Research & Education, which was established to develop leading engineers for the optical industry and promote the development of optical application technologies.

Canon is a first special cosponsor of the All Japan High School English Speech Contest, organized by ZEN-EI-REN, the national federation of English education research organizations.
