Since 2003, Canon has invited disabled children to its “J.League Enjoy Program”, providing them with the rare opportunity to experience for themselves the excitement of a major sporting event.

The Oita International Wheelchair Marathon is one of the world’s largest wheelchair races with competitors from around the world. Canon has been a supporter of the marathon since 2006.
In 2008, a total of 66 volunteers from Oita Canon Inc. and Oita Canon Materials Inc. helped administer the marathon at every step of the way, from registering runners at Oita City Hall the day before the races, to helping with traffic and directions the day of, and finally seeing runners off after the conclusion of the competition.
