The exhibition introduced the work of about 1,000 children who had participated in photo projects held a total of 15 times at eight venues around Tokyo, Hokkaido, Aomori, Nagano, Ishikawa, Oita (2 venues), and Okinawa Prefectures. Also exhibited were intriguing photos that were taken during a digital camera class and photography fieldwork, and visitors to the exhibition could enjoy the animated faces of the curious children.
The children who visited the exhibition looked cheerfully at their own work and that of their friends, with their families standing next to them looking happy as they appreciated the items on display. The exhibition was filled with a certain atmosphere that one could only see at “Canon Junior Photographers.” Here and there in the hall, staff members were seen taking photos of children standing in front of their work, and printing them on the spot. Children’s bashful smiles while they were photographed were impressive.
Another pleasure visitors experienced was to see the titles the children gave their work - “Taking a Rest at the Center of the World,” “Mantis’s Mumble ‘I’m dazzled’,” “Happanda (happa=leaf),” “Heartombo (tombo=dragonfly),” “Water drops strolling on a leaf ,” and “Dear Spider! Don’t be killed!” It is understood from those titles that the children also got pleasure creating the photos, and making them original.
