Report on the Talk Session of guest judges Katsumi Omori and Rika Noguchi
Omori and Noguchi have both used the New Cosmos of Photography to spread their wings in the world as photographer and photo artist respectively. At the talk session that took place before the open selection meeting, with Hiroyasu Yamauchi as the master of ceremonies, they each gave explanations while showing slides, and then a question and answer session followed.
First, Omori himself showed slides of his cherry tree photo series “encounter,” and revealed some very interesting episodes about the process of how his works were created.
Then, while Noguchi showed her works she earnestly talked about her start as an artist from her first work “Diver,” and the path leading to her current creative actions.
The attention of the audience was greatly taken up by their diligent efforts towards creating their works, and it provided a stimulus for all of those aiming to be photographers in the future.
