Report on Grand Prize Selection Open-Committee Meeting of New Cosmos of Photography 2009 (the 32nd competition)
Open selection meeting participants
The 2009 Grand Prize selection of (the 32nd competition) open selection meeting was held on November 20 during the New Cosmos of Photography 2009 Tokyo exhibition, which ran from November 7 to 29 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography. A large group of visitors had gathered by the time the doors to the first floor hall opened at 3:30 P.M., and there was a palpable sense of awe and anticipation among the crowd at the New Cosmos of Photography.
The selection meeting was attended by the five Excellence Award finalists - Adam Hosmer, Misato Kuroda, Masanao Sugiyama, Hitomi Takahashi, and Makoto Yasumori. Regular judges Nobuyoshi Araki, Kotaro Iizawa, and Fumio Nanjo were joined by guest judges Ryoichi Enomoto and Mika Ninagawa.
