It seems to me that photography exists as a mirror that reflects one’s inner world. I made this work to visualize my own memory of dreams by retracing them. Many of the images are somewhat personal and, as such, may be somewhat incomprehensible. I hope that you will appreciate them sensuously. I wish to express my sincere gratitude for receiving the award.

Wow! It’s more powerful than last year. It’s dangerous. It has a strange eroticism to it, which I like. I don’t have the words to describe what’s good about it, but it’s good. It has a strength to it, not easily translated into words. But practically like menstruation, it hits you physically.
