I dwell on details. Because nothing makes a difference and I stopped caring.
The breathing of the trees, the temperature of the sun, the murmuring of insects, the structure of the flowers, the sound of the subway wheels grinding. A very quiet world is spread out directly beneath the August sun. Then my thoughts disappeared, and I became a plant. Although I haven’t quit walking, I probably won’t move from here anymore.

Selecting judge: Katsumi Asaba

I like his vision of setting a tripod and photographing an ordinary landscape. There’s nothing dramatic about it, but I like his approach of looking seriously at nature. The scenery of Japan is great. I especially like the forked roads. Forked roads where you hesitate which way to go just like life. If this road is better, or if the other road would make life more fun. There’s a desire to see both roads, but the tension of choosing one road is indescribable. I can keep looking at it without getting bored. What’s beyond, you can only imagine. This happens to be one of my themes also.
