The title is from a verse in an Indian children’s song. I was able to live with an Islamic family in Makhdumia, a farming village in northern India. Sometimes, when I’d happen to sing this song to myself, I would feel relaxed. It’s my hope that you can sense the many small universes taking place within a tranquil everyday life.

It seems like photos with expressions facing inwards or strongly emphasizing oneself are increasing. That’s good in its own way, but photography is also supposed to have a function of discovering one’s outside world and widening the scope of awareness. Ms. Shibahara’s vision is full of astonishment and curiosity towards the outside, which feels good to the observant. Regarding her use of colors in the color prints, her subtle control is effective, and the sensation of an escaping journey, a slight shift from everyday life is well expressed.
