It seems to me that taking pictures is to sprout a story in lighting. In my work, I use children as models for pictures. These children are not just photographic subjects, but they also play an actor-like role. I find it difficult to find the right models.
I took these pictures in Southern France. I chose sites such as rugged landscapes with thick shrubs (typical landscape in Languedoc), and the seaside. I prepared props and costumes for children and brought them over with me. I looked for children locally to model for me. Before taking pictures, I sometimes sketched images in my mind.
For my work, I don’t click the shutter more than ten times for one theme, because I am very careful about the delicate moment to photograph. Everything should be stopped as it is. I take special care in dealing with children’s eyes in the pictures. Their eyes implicitly show complex meanings such as commonly accepted ideas and taboos. Therefore, to deal with them most effectively, I try not to overuse their eyes in pictures.

Selecting judge: Bernard Faucon

She takes pictures like “la mode” photography. A poetic world of children is created, and she has many good points such as her way of capturing light and her use of colors. The shortcoming is that the construction is a little overdone, nevertheless I like it. She is creating her own world.
