“A beautiful Girl m+other”
I decided to take pictures of my mother for this competition, which assured me of a very dangerous scandal. It was probably a way to have a significant impact. In these pictures, I attempted to imprint my “gratitude” and “betrayal” as well. Because of that, while photographing, I could keep a tension as I moved into more dangerous sensuous areas. How can I strip my mother? It is like a picture of a convinced offender. Anything will do, whether in photography or other fields, as long as it is interesting, is my belief right now. My work for this competition is based on the same idea. I would try anything that is possible.
Selecting judge: Shomei Tomatsu
His originality comes from his way of avoiding imitating others, which is further strengthened by his technique. I have expectations for him because he will be capable of all sorts of approaches to photography. “To strip” is not so important, and I find universality in his approach to art, which is very persuasive. His work is different from others in that he faces the subject head on, with his whole being. I look forward to seeing his next work.
