I met this thirteen-year-old boy about five years ago. Since then, I am strongly drawn to teenagers and the underage. Their transitory existence and consequent eroticism are very cool, and they kick my self-complacent fantasies out while I am suffocating from a continuous series of obligations and things that turn out to be as they were expected. If I may summarize, photography does not fit in any kind of story, is free from any ideology, and erotic while empty. I am most suitable to be a secretary in accurately recording teenagers' unexplainable beauty. There is a good expression, “kill with eyes,” and I don't mind being killed with their eyes---with their blue, and ever blue eyes.

Selecting judge: Kotaro Iizawa

Her last year’s work selected as a fine work, was an impressive series, and this year, her work has been scaled up, and her theme “adolescence” is shown clearer. The composition as a portfolio is somewhat complex, and in some parts, I am not certain why such photos are included (monochrome nudes in particular). This could be interpreted favorably that she was eager to give a certain extent to her work. I expect that she will grow as a really professional photographer who can compose images based on a solid concept.
