Kenji Ushikubo publishes a photo book titled “PORTRAIT”
Kenji Ushikubo (2011 (34th competition) Honorable Mention winner) has published a Zine photo book titled “
PORTRAIT.”
The starting points of these pieces are light and woman. He is driven forward in his creative activities with a desire to shoot these two subjects in depth.
For Ushikubo, they are a mother, a lover, or perhaps they represent a woman he confronts who is an unknown quantity? Portraits with faces that cannot be seen present a mysterious outlook. These works advocate that people in photos can be anybody, or nobody, and depending on the viewer, profiles such as age, nationality, or gender can freely metamorphose. Buy this book.
