New Cosmos of Photography 2005 (28th competition) Honorable Mention winner Masaya Oka is holding an exhibition titled “Living National Treasure” at Totem Pole Photo Gallery. Do not miss it!

Photographer’s comment:
These are photos of a U.S. military base and its surroundings in Japan. Drinking sessions with U.S. soldiers are presented; however, these special occasions are also associated with the battlefield and death in action. In addition, “friendship” and “warfare” counterbalance each other in the photos, which defines their national homogeneity.
