Yuki Aoyama holds photo exhibitions titled “SOLARYMAN Olympics Tokyo 2008” and “undercover”

Yuki Aoyama, an Excellence Award winner of New Cosmos of Photography 2007, (the 30th competition) is holding his exhibitions “SOLARYMAN Olympics Tokyo 2008” at Tokyo Wonder Site Hongo in Tokyo, and “undercover” at Wada Art Gallery in Yaesu, Tokyo. “SOLARYMAN Olympics Tokyo 2008”

“SOLARYMAN” is a word coined to represent “a salaried worker flying in the sky.” Japan’s salaried workers, wearing suits that are their uniforms, are struggling to cope with the rough-and-tumble of society. Scenes in which they are working energetically are presented at the time the Olympics are to be held in midsummer.

“undercover”

This photo exhibition is a compilation of Aoyama’s works including his new works related to the New Cosmos of Photography winning work “undercover” series. We hope you will enjoy “ works in which high school girl students are symbolically used as a motif and their inferiority-complexes at adolescence, various gaze-induced delusions, and fetishism are packaged with a sense of adoration.”
