Yutaka Yamashita holds solo exhibition titled “Gunkan Apartments” in Osaka

Yutaka Yamashita, an Excellence Award winner of New Cosmos of Photography 2004 (the 27th competition) is holding a solo exhibition titled “Gunkan Apartments” at The Third Gallery Aya in Osaka to commemorate the sale of his first photo book of the same title. The Osaka municipal housing complex, commonly known as “Gunkan Apartments,” attracted attention as a modern housing project featuring the latest facilities at the time of its construction in the early Showa period (1926-- ). This exhibition is composed of groups of photographs Yamashita took continuously over a period of seventeen years, and will provide visitors with an opportunity to become aware of the traces of the lives of people who lived there. It is a must-see, and we hope you will take this opportunity to enjoy both the exhibition and his photo book, which was put on sale recently.
