New Cosmos of Photography Tokyo Exhibition 2010 opens
Grand Prize selection open committee meeting to be held during the exhibition period
The New Cosmos of Photography Tokyo Exhibition 2010 will present Excellence Award-winning works by five artists and Honorable Mention works by 20 artists, who have been selected from among 1,276 entrants in 2010 (33rd competition). An exhibition of new works by Misato Kuroda, Grand Prize winner 2009, will be held concurrently.
The open committee meeting to select one Grand Prize winner from among this year's Excellence Award winners will also be held during the exhibition period. At the Grand Prize selection open committee meeting, each Excellence Award winner will give a presentation and have a question-and-answer session with the judges of approximately 15 minutes. This is a great opportunity to hear opinions, evaluations, and active discussions about photography today through the award-winning works with this year's new group of judges. Do not miss it!
If you would like to attend the Grand Prize selection open committee meeting, please make an advanced reservation (application details will be made available on this homepage by mid-October). We hope you will take this opportunity to attend the events.
Also, during the exhibition period, as a new project, individuals in the photography industry will publicly review of award-winning works, and award-winners will take part in events where they will talk about the concepts and intentions behind their work.

Comments from the artist:
What does family mean to you?
People connected by blood as a family,
people living together as a family in the same surroundings,
and people that have non-humans as their family,
I think ideas vary from person to person.
And, there are people with more than one family.
When you look at these photos, which one do you think is the real family?
